Established in 1996, Harrow Carers is an independent charity and the primary support agency for carers in Harrow. They have created an extensive network of services to enhance the quality of life for carers of all ages.
What they do
They recognise that carers suffer physically, mentally, socially and financially and may become patients themselves if not properly supported. They offer their services to anyone who cares for people in the community who are ill, frail, disabled and disadvantaged.
They support carers of all ages over the phone, face-to-face contact, support groups and workshops. Services include support groups, counselling, wellbeing sessions, hospital discharge, befriending. They work closely with local and national agencies and can signpost carers to specialised sources of support.
